Fun facts
about our region

Tambo is the oldest town in Western Queensland.

Blackall is home to the iconic Blackall Woolscour — one of the last remaining steam-powered woolscours in Australia.

Life here is shaped by artesian water drawn from the Great Artesian Basin.

The region spans more than 30,500 square kilometres of Queensland Outback.

Located approximately 900km northwest of Brisbane.

Built on generations of cattle, sheep and wool production
— with tourism and agriculture continuing to shape the region today.
